On thursday evening it was just getting dark when we arrived to the village. In the front of the hall where the party was held were a lot of children singing and drumming. It was really touching, how much the children were waiting for us and how happy they were when we finally arrived. We were instructed to sit on the benches in the front. There was also a dance show the children had prepared for us.
In the beginning of the party couple of speeches were held.The village leader introduced as and also Anna Trane had a speech behalf of Cybercom. The kids were sitting amazingly still. After the speeches the children were told that we have gifts for them they started to move on their benches, but still everyone was on their seats.
We had little gifts for everyone: crayons, beads, fake tattoos, noice makers, balloons and soap bubbles. One for each 120 children. We gave the gifts away and Joel was doing the fake tattoos. After the children got their gifts there was a lot of noise in the air, not only because of thr noise makers, but because the children were so happy.
The party started rather late so after about an hour it was time for the children go to bed. We also had little giftbags for all the mothers. After we had given to them the leader of the mothers spoke to us and told how amzing it is that there really is people so far away who care so much of them taht they want to pay a visit. The mother cried and we got really emotional.
After the party we had a dinner with Alfren in the village’s guest house. We heard the noice makers while eating the dinner and wondered if the mothers were really happy about them after all.
